This episode of our Lessons in Nursing Leadership Webinar Series is a practical walkthrough of how to use hospital mobility tools the right way to drive clinical decisions and outcomes. We’ll focus on accurate assessment and documentation of mobility using the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion (JH-AMP) approach, including the AM-PAC and the Johns Hopkins Mobility Goal Calculator (JH-MGC)
The emphasis is on correct use in everyday practice, avoiding common scoring errors, understanding how the tools complement each other, and addressing the FAQs staff run into on the floor. The goal is to make mobility measurement simple, consistent, and meaningful for the whole care team.

- Explain how the JH-AMP mobility tools: AM-PAC, Johns Hopkins Highest Level of Mobility, and the JH-MGC, work together to inform daily clinical decision-making.
- Apply correct scoring methods to assess and document patient mobility capacity and performance in acute care settings.
- Recognize common documentation, scoring, and interpretation errors that reduce the accuracy and reliability of mobility measurement.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to support consistent reassessment and accurate mobility documentation across the care team.
