Module 6: Acute Care
Nurses play a pivotal role in rapid identification and triage of patients with acute stroke, initial assessment, and coordinating the timely flow of patients with acute stroke through the health system. Nurses enable the delivery of relevant time critical treatments, tests, and rapid transfers for the management of patients experiencing a stroke.
This module is comprised of 7 parts which address the following:
- Assessment and monitoring
- Associated stroke disorders
- Cardiovascular therapy
- Direct oral anticoagulants
- Hemorrhagic stroke care
- Ischemic stroke care
- Diagnostics and care
