Dr. Hubbell is the Assistant Director for Doctoral Programs at the UNCW School of Nursing, where she provides strategic leadership for over 300 students across five concentrations. She recently led her program through CCNE reaccreditation, achieving 10-year approval with zero recommendations. She has redesigned the doctoral curriculum to systematically integrate evidence-based practice methodologies, creating competency-based structures that transform clinicians into change agents capable of leading healthcare improvement. Dual board-certified as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, she maintains active clinical practice and brings practical expertise in applying the Johns Hopkins EBP Model to curriculum design, program development, and accreditation processes. Her work bridges clinical excellence, educational innovation, and organizational leadership - building scalable systems that support student and faculty success while advancing nursing's capacity to lead evidence-based change. 

Dr. Duea has an applied research program to improve community and population health and uses community-based participatory research methodologies to guide her work with community stakeholders. She engages in research and scholarship by developing interprofessional partnerships and working in and with communities and agencies to address priorities they have identified. Further, Dr. Duea engages faculty colleagues and students in these partnerships and projects in ways that advance faculty programs of research/scholarship, student learning experiences, while contributing positively to the communities/populations served.
