Dementia: Is it Different in Veterans?

The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to expand awareness among non-VA clinicians how dementia presents in Veterans in order to improve their care of Veterans.

1.   Discuss importance of incorporation of determination of Veteran status into their history taking    
2.   Rule out (or confirm) co-morbidities common in Veterans with dementia                    
3.   Incorporate questions into interview of care provider regarding Veteran-specific aspects of Veterans past and current functioning
