Advances in Parkinson's Disease

This course gives you state-of-the-science information about Parkinson's disease, the second most common neuro-degenerative disease in our population after Alzheimer's disease. 

It is presented by Becky Dunlop, RN, who has served the Parkinson disease community for over 20 years. As the coordinator, research nurse, and nurse educator for the National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence at Johns Hopkins University, she has lead one of the most productive PD outreach efforts in NPF’s history.

Learning Objectives

At the close of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand basic information about Parkinson's disease.
  2. Recognize non-motor and psychological aspects of this complex illness.
  3. Understand treatment options including medications and the value of a comprehensive team approach.
  4. Understand the state of current research and the hope that research provides for those living with Parkinson's disease.
