Introduction to Unconscious Bias and Microaggressions

The purpose of this course is to fulfill the state of Maryland requirement for completion of implicit bias training for licensed providers for re-licensure as of 4/1/2022 (Senate Bill 5/House Bill 28 - 2021: Public Health - Implicit Bias Training and the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities). This course meets the Maryland requirement but does not offer CME credit. For more information, please visit Implicit Bias Training for Healthcare Professionals

This course will increase awareness of unconscious bias and microaggressions, provide participants with strategies for responding to microaggressions, and mitigate bias in everyday life, the workplace, and in clinical care in an effort to reduce health and health care disparities and promote health equity.


This one-hour course was previously offered live via Zoom from September 2022-February 2023. For user convenience, this course is now available on-demand as a webinar recording. In order to receive credit, you will need to watch at least 95% of the course without skipping or fast-forwarding. Otherwise, your progress will not be recorded and you will not receive credit for the course. Upon course completion, you will be prompted to complete an evaluation and then will be able to download your certificate. Please be sure to download your certificate as soon as possible.

Target Audience

Any licensed provider, who is required to complete implicit bias training in fulfillment of (Senate Bill 5/House Bill 28 - 2021: Public Health - Implicit Bias Training and the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities) as of 4/1/2022.
